Mumbai: BJP MLA Suresh Dhas, who recently made headlines for meeting Minister Dhananjay Munde after attempting to link him to the murder case of Beed sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, visited the slain sarpanch’s family in Massajog on Saturday.

The villagers of Massajog are planning a hunger strike on February 25 to demand justice for Deshmukh. Speaking to the media after the visit, Dhas raised serious concerns about the treatment of the accused in the case.

He stated, “The accused are receiving VIP treatment in jail, and there is CCTV evidence to prove it. Who is bringing tea and fancy meals for Valmik Karad? Who is delivering large bags to the accused?”

Dhas further said, “On Sunday, I will go to Nagpur to meet CM Devendra Fadnavis. If the CM responds positively to the villagers’ demands, the hunger strike may not be necessary. I will only return after ensuring action is taken.”

In a separate visit, BJP MLA Suresh Dhas met the family of businessman Mahadev Munde, who was murdered 16 months ago. Dhas indirectly accused Dhananjay Munde and his associates of involvement in the case. However, Dhas faced protests, with some demonstrators showing black flags and accusing him of tarnishing Parli’s reputation.
