  • PM Narendra Modi Slams Opposition For Politics On Water Over River Linking Project

Jaipur: On the occasion of the first anniversary of the BJP government in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the crucial and much awaited river linking Parvati-Kalsindh-Chambal-ERCP project in Jaipur on Tuesday. The CMs of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh exchanged Memorandum of Agreement of the project in the presence of PM Modi.

In his address accusing Congress for delaying and creating water disputes between the states the Prime Minister highlighted that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee envisioned linking rivers to address this issue and formed a special committee for it. He added that the goal was to transfer excess water from rivers to drought-affected areas, solving both flood and drought problems. The Supreme Court also supported this vision, but the previous governments never aimed to alleviate water issues and instead promoted water disputes between states.

“The picture of the CMs of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan signing the agreement for this project is extraordinary. In the coming years, people across the country will show this picture to the politicians and ask them why they keep doing politics on water. The water flowed into the sea, but why couldn’t they sign a paper,” said the PM.

Accusing Congress of delaying the ERCP PM said that instead of finding a solution, Congress delayed the project and Rajasthan had to suffer due to this policy. PM said that his Government believed in cooperation and solutions as against opposition and obstacles.

“Our government has approved and expanded the ERCP. As soon as our governments formed in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, an agreement was reached on the Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal link project, which would interlink the Chambal River and its tributaries. I envision a day when Rajasthan will no longer face water scarcity and will have sufficient water for development, said Modi highlighting the benefits of the project that will provide irrigation and drinking water to 21 districts in Rajasthan.

Laying the foundation and dedicating the development projects worth over Rs 46000 crore in Rajasthan, PM Modi thanked the people for their support and said that the Governments at the Center and State are becoming a symbol of Good Governance.

“People believed that his party symbolized the guarantee of Good Governance and this was the reason for getting the support of the public in so many states. There is no such precedence of forming a Union Government by the same party for three times in a row in the past 60 years and twice continuously in Maharashtra and Haryana. This shows the trust of the people in us.”

Emphasizing the importance of water conservation and stating that it is the responsibility of both the government and society to use every drop of water effectively, the Prime Minister urged the people to engage in micro-irrigation, drip irrigation, and the maintenance of Amrit Sarovars, and to raise awareness about water management. He also encouraged them to promote natural farming among farmers.

On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that this was a 20-year-old water dispute. This gift of water in both the states have been fulfilled only because of PM Modi. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that this project will benefit 21 districts of Rajasthan and irrigate 2.5 lakh hectares of land here.

The Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Kisanrao Bagade, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C.R Patil were also present on the occasion.

Prime Minister inaugurated 9 projects worth over Rs 11,000 crore comprising 7 central government projects and 2 state government projects and laid the foundation stone for 15 projects worth over Rs 35,300 crore comprising 9 central government projects and 6 state government projects.

  • India preparing for war! US-India defence deal scares Pakistan, says PM Modi…

India has received the attention of the world.

Islamabad: A news related to the defense agreement between India and Russia has recently surfaced. India has reduced orders for defense equipment with Russia and turned to Western suppliers.

This is a major shift in India’s policy as traditionally, New Delhi has relied on Moscow for weapons. This shift of India has also received the attention of the world. Pakistan’s political commentator Qamar Cheema has praised India while reacting to this and said that this change is very important.

Sharing a video, Qamar Cheema said, “Some defense agreements between India and Russia have been delayed. It is believed that since Russia itself is embroiled in a war with Ukraine, in such a situation it is not able to give arms to India in time and India is not happy with this. In such a situation, India has turned to the West and America for weapons.”

“India has shown a massive pro-US tilt. Russia is also paying attention to this. It is also natural to get the attention of Russia because India has been buying most of the weapons from them, but in the last few years, the US has opened the doors for India, so New Delhi is also looking around. It seems that India does not want to close any door. It wants to be prepared for a war-like situation.”

Cheema says that Russian President Vladimir Putin feels that India will continue to move forward with Russia for the sake of old relations. Putin also tries not to go towards India, but the truth is that India will only see its benefits. It is also taking supplies from America, but it knows that America can annoy it in the coming time, that’s why Russia is not closing the way either. India feels that whatever it is getting for the time being, it should be taken.

On the comparison of weapons between Russia and the USA, Cheema said that weapons from Russia are available at a cheaper rate to an extent but India does not want too much delay. Due to the Ukraine war, some of its weapons are stuck in Russia. It does not want the deals with Russia to be delayed. In such a situation, it has changed his policy and shifted towards America. However, India is taking oil from Russia and it is not spoiling relations with anyone.

  • NSA Doval in Beijeing to attend Special Representative talks China

Beijing: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, December 17, to take part in the India-China Special Representatives’ talks to be held on Wednesday aimed at restoring the bilateral ties stalled for over four years due to the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.

Doval will hold the 23rd round of the Special Representatives’ (SR) talks with his Chinese counterpart and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and was expected to discuss a range of issues to rebuild the bilateral ties following the October 21 agreement of disengagement and patrolling in eastern Ladakh between the two countries.

The last Special Representative talk between the two nations was held in New Delhi on December 21, 2019.

In June 2020, tension between the two troops stationed at the borders led to a melee at Galwan Valley, resulting in the deaths of at least 20 Indian soldiers and four Chinese soldiers. The clashes, which were the first instance of a military standoff in 45 years at India’s Line of Actual Control (LAC), led to the bilateral ties between India and China going bitter.

Between February 2021 and September 2022, Indian and Chinese troops disengaged at the North and South Banks of the Pangong Lake, Gogra and the Hot Springs area.

Ahead of crucial talks, China said on Tuesday that it is ready to honour commitments based on the common understandings reached between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping during their meeting at Kazan in Russia on the sidelines of the BRICS summit on October 24.

China stands ready to work with India to deliver on important common understandings reached between our two leaders, enhance mutual trust and mutual confidence through dialogue and communication, honour our commitments and promote our bilateral relations to go back to the sound and steady growth, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian told a media briefing when asked about SR talks.

  • Reminisce Magic Of The Serene Konkan With Shashikant Patade’s Unique Blend Of Palette

A true artist’s vision lies in not his skills but in what he sees and imagines beyond his art. In our very first conversation, Shashikant Patade mentioned how paintings should not just remain a piece of art hanging on walls in empty spaces but they should be a medium that transport you to an entire different arena, even if it is for a while. It should be your escape, a space of contentment and a story that reminds you of something or someone.

Well, Shashikant’s paintings speak volumes. They take your mind on a little tour where you can’t help but become a part of the painting. For instance, I was observing one of his paintings where a tribal woman was walking out of a forest where one of her hand was holding a stack of cut woods on her head while holding her little son’s hand with the other. The painting shows multiple rays of sunshine piercing themselves through wide and heavy spread of canopies and this moment could literally be felt. Rays of sunshine touching your skin in a bare, green forest……

    About Shashikant Patade

Shashikant Patade completed his art education up to G.D. Art and A.M. in Fine Arts at L.S. Raheja School of Arts in Bandra, Mumbai. He participated in several solo and group exhibitions in top art galleries across Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, New Delhi, and the USA, receiving great appreciation for his thematic presentations. He has been honored with many awards from the Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, Raheja School of Art, MCGB, and Camlin Ltd., as well as for set designing from NCPA.

The various works in acrylic, oil colors, and mixed media on canvas reflect his artistic perception, capturing the sanctity and relevance of numerous historical monuments across different regions. His art celebrates the vivid religious festivals of India, while also showcasing the omnipresent beauty of nature-particularly in the rural areas of Konkan-highlighting their seasonal peculiarities and subtleties.

    Shashikant’s paintings

The artist’s paintings are a blend of cultures, colours and diversity of Indian landscape. Be it a village side scenary, Mumbai’s bustling streets or Rajasthan’s majestic palaces. When asked about his favourite series of paintings, he mentioned how two paintings called, ‘Temple’ and ‘King’s Procession’ were his favourite since he has travelled a lot in Rajasthan and each time, this colourful city seems to have enchanted him with its beauty.

He also went on to explain ‘Devrai’, another one of his paintings that describes the significance of a place in a village where people do not cut thr trees. They let them take its natural course and grow infinitly. This place is called the ‘Devrai’.

    Collages

If you happen to take a stroll across the display of Shashikant’s paintings, you will come across a few colourful collages and will be taken aback with its beauty and mastery. “We applied acryalic colours on collage papers, cut them seperately, dried them and them stuck them in the form a painting….just like pieces of puzzle. I had a picture of exactly which colour would look vibrant and depict the story I wish to convey. After the painting was done, I applied a solution on it to make sure the colour does not wear off,” said Shashikant.

    Exhibition Details

Patade’s paintings are on display from December 16 to December 31, 2024 at the Free Press House. The paintings will be open for admirers to take a look between 11 AM to 7 PM.

Gallery FPH is located at the Free Press House in Nariman Point, Mumbai. It provides talented artists a fortnightly space to showcase their works and receive acknowledgement from art lovers and attract sales.

The showdown between India and Australia in the third Test in Brisbane will be culminated on day five. While draw looks as the most likely result, a win and loss for either sides is not out of the equation. However, the overhead conditions will be in massive focus as it has played a big part in preventing Australia’s win.

According to Accuweather, the cloud cover in the morning will remain only at 97%, while the probability of precipitation is only 25%. However, the probability of rains surges to 90% during the afternoon session, while the cloud cover is 95%.

However, the probability of precipitation comes down to 18% in the evening and the cloud cover is 89%.

Australia fail to enforce follow-on on day four in Brisbane

Meanwhile, the hosts could not separate the final pair on day four despite having them at 213/9 at one stage. Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah toughened it out for an unbroken 39-run stand to take India to a total of 246 and avoid the follow-on at the Gabba.

While India still trail by Australia’s first innings score of 445 by 193 runs, they have successfully ensured that the opposition will bat again. Australia being a bowler down, with Josh Hazlewood going off the field after sending down only one over put pressure on Starc and Pat Cummins. Hazlewood’s series also looks done as the hosts will likely play Scott Boland in the final two Tests.

With rains predicted for day 5 as well in Brisbane, Australia face an uphill challenge to force victory.
