In good news for Punekars out celebrating New Year’s Eve, Pune Metro has decided to extend its operational hours by an additional hour. The metro will now run until 11pm today, instead of the usual 10pm closure.
Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director (Administration and Public Relations), Pune Metro, said, “On the occasion of the New Year, we have extended the metro timing by one hour. Normally, the metro operates from 6am to 10pm, but today it will run until 11pm.”
He added, “Additionally, the interval between trains will be reduced by one minute. Instead of seven minutes, trains will now run at six-minute intervals.”
Tendering Process For Swargate-Katraj Metro Extension In Final Stages
Maha-Metro MD Shravan Hardikar has confirmed that the tendering process for the Pune Metro Line 1 extension from Swargate to Katraj is in its final stages, with a contractor expected to be appointed soon.
Apart from this, Hardikar said the Maha-Metro has also initiated the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed Muktai Chowk to Wakad to Nashik Phata to Chakan route.
