At just eleven years old, Trisha Bhosale has already made a name for herself in Indian tennis. Finishing as the runner-up at the 19th Ramesh Desai Memorial Nationals U12 Tennis Championship 2025, held in Mumbai, the young athlete from Koparkhairane has demonstrated immense potential and determination.

Trisha’s journey into the world of tennis began at the age of seven when she would accompany her elder brother to his practice sessions. Watching him play sparked a deep interest in the sport, and soon, she was drawn to the game herself. “She used to accompany her brother for training purposes and had taken a liking for the game. As she grew, her desire was to take formal training, and thus we got her enrolled with the Gymkhana,” shares her father Pravin Bhosale.

Now a student of North Point School, Koparkhairane, Trisha travels all the way to Nerul to train at Nerul Gymkhana Tennis Academy.  She is taking training from coaches Yash Pandit and Gitesh Awasthi. Her dedication to the sport is evident in her intense training schedule— spending nearly three hours daily on the court while balancing her academic responsibilities as a seventh-grade student.

Her recent performance at the nationals has garnered significant attention, with many in the tennis community recognizing her as a future star of Indian tennis. “She is one of the most promising tennis players in the country. The efforts put in by the Gymkhana tennis academy have played a crucial role in her development. There is significant excitement within the tennis community about her future tournaments,” says the coach.

Trisha’s father is now focused on helping her climb the national rankings, an essential step toward competing internationally. “In the coming days, we will focus on improving her rankings so that she stands a better chance of performing at the international level. We are also in search of sponsors,” he shares.
