Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Pardesipura police has arrested a smuggler with 255 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 64 lakh, an official said on Thursday. The man had allegedly built a network of more than 60 drug peddlers across the city. Gulshan Nargave, a resident of Devguradia, was being watched for a while. DCP (zone-2) Abhinay Vishwakarma said Nargave had arrived at the market in an XUV and the drugs were hidden in his T-shirt.
The accused has eight cases registered against him in Vijay Nagar, Khajrana, Kanadiya, Rajendra Nagar, Bhawarkuan, and Azad Nagar police stations under the Excise Act, the NDPS Act, and for theft. He was absconding in an Azad Nagar case. His wife Saloni was involved in drug smuggling but after her arrest, the accused took over the operations and even expanded it under the alias ‘Jija’. He never directly supplied drugs but managed distribution through flats and select individuals. He had recruited more than 60 peddlers to sell drugs on his behalf. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to bringing drugs from Ratlam and Jaora.
Police used GPS to track him down
Sources claimed that Gulshan was supplying drugs in bulk to industrial areas. Acting on this information, police secretly attached a GPS tracker to his XUV car and monitored his live location. Finally, when he arrived in Pardesipura to deliver drugs, the police reached the exact location and arrested him.
