Weather Forecast: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed about a new Western Disturbance that has entered the mountains from December 5. This fresh disturbance is expected to bring light to moderate rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Parts of Himachal Pradesh will also remain cloudy. Intense cold wave expected in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. IMD has issued orange alert for Tamil Nadu’s Chennai.

Weather Update: The residents of Delhi and adjoining National Capital Region (NCR) are feeling the winter chills as the temperature has dipped to 5 to 7 degrees Celsius in some areas. The average maximum temperature is hovering between 21 to 22 degrees Celsius. In recent days, the wind speed has decreased to 9 kmph, earlier it was blowing at a speed of 15 kmph. On the other hand, Tamil Nadu is witnessing heavy rainfall. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh Orange alert for heavy rainfall in the city today. This fresh natural phenomenon is expected to bring light to moderate rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, which will worsen the weather. Parts of Himachal Pradesh will also remain cloudy, there is also a little possibility of heavy rainfall.

The IMD stated that, this new weather system is likely to increase the intensity of cold wave in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
